Soursound Hundred Dollar Boost version 2.0

**All pedals will ship during the month of December!  This is the last round of Hundred Dollar Boosts ever.  After this the unit will be discontinued so get yours while they last!**

10 years later the HDB is back, it's been heavily updated, and it's still only $100.

Simply put - our clean boost takes what you've already got (your guitar signal) and gives you a hell of a lot more of it. The circuit is very high input impedance and a very low output impedance making it perfect for driving long cable runs. It's voicing is designed to shape your guitar signal so a more natural amp overdrive can be attained easier all while expanding the detail of your playing. String definition during chording is increased and note attack is improved. At the unity gain setting it works as a fantastic buffer pedal as well as increasing harmonic content to anything before it in your signal chain. As a boost, it's voicing is designed specifically for pushing tube amps in to distortion. With 22dB of boost on tap it achieves this goal with relative ease.

There's actually two complete circuit blocks inside. The first is the power supply, which takes your 9 volts DC and steps it up to 33 volts DC. A significant improvement over the previous design. This gives us much more output level and voltage swing out of our boost circuit - all while increasing your picking dynamics. The internal DC-DC converter is a modern boost converter circuit running over 1 million times a second keeping any residual power supply noise completely out of the audio path. The boost circuit is a simple yet elegant solution to gain. It's a discrete voltage amplifier directly coupled to an impedance driver that's similar in architecture to some of our favorite classic guitar amps. All of this is achieved through a unique discrete transistor design.

Momentary operation! Another major improvement over the original design is the relay based true bypass soft-switching system we've added. Gold plated contacts on the relay insure uncompromised signal quality in the bypass system as opposed to using noisy mechanical switches that are prone to failure. An extremely fast microcontroller continually reads the state of the footswitch for very quick reaction times. Every pedal ships configured as a standard latching footswtich but there's a momentary mode that can easily be enabled. Simply hold the footswitch down when plugging the pedal in, the led will flash, and it'll enable the auto-detecting momentary mode. This setting is automatically saved so every time you power up the pedal (or your pedal board as a whole) your setting is reloaded from internal memory.

New for 2020 -> Our enclosures are now laser engraved again!

It's definitely been a challenge to make something this over-designed and keep all the production stateside so we're forced to make these in pretty large runs to meet the stated price point. We offer pre-orders whenever a run is announced to help get the production off the ground. The price is $100 before shipping. The cost of that price is an agreement to never sell it for more than $100. We've put it right there on the back of the pedal...
